FA Cup winners Wigan Athletic will open their Championship campaign with a trip to Barnsley while QPR will host Sheffield Wednesday.
Wigan, who play Manchester United in the Community Shield at Wembley on August 11 in the third competitive match of their season, will start their first season in the second tier since 2004-05 with a visit to Barnsley's Oakwell on August 3.
It will be new manager Owen Coyle's first match in charge of Wigan, after former boss Roberto Martinez left for Everton.
Harry Redknapp's QPR will start their attempt to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt with a home clash against Wednesday at Loftus Road, while Reading host Ipswich Town.
League One champions Doncaster Rovers begin life in the Championship with a home clash against Blackpool, while Yeovil Town's first ever match in the second tier sees them on the road to face Millwall at the New Den.
Bournemouth, who also won promotion from League One last term, are set to battle Charlton Athletic at the Goldsands Stadium on the first weekend of the season.
Play-off final losers Watford begin at Birmingham City while fallen giants Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Derby County are at home to Brighton and Hove Albion, Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town respectively, in the first weekend of the season.
The first derby between Burnley and Blackburn will be staged at Turf Moor on the weekend of September 14, with the return fixture to be played in early March at Ewood Park.
Forest and Derby will renew their rivalry at The City Ground on September 28, with Pride Park to host the March meeting between the two clubs.
On Boxing Day, Leeds go to Blackpool, Watford host Millwall and Forest play QPR, while on the last day of the season, Middlesbrough are at Yeovil, Bolton host Birmingham and Leicester City are at home to Doncaster.
As was announced on Tuesday, Wolves will open their League One season at Preston North End in one of six clashes designed to mark the 125th anniversary of the Football League.
Peterborough United and Bristol City were also relegated to the Championship and host Swindon Town and newly promoted Bradford City respectively.
Bradford, who reached the League Cup final and won the League Two play-offs last season, have not been involved in League One since 2006-07.
Also winning a place in League One this season were League Two champions Gillingham, who host Colchester United in their first clash.
Other promotion winners, Rotherham United and Port Vale, visit Crewe Alexandra and host Brentford respectively.
The first derby between Coventry City and Wolves will be at Molineux on October 19, while Sheffield United host Oldham Athletic on Boxing Day.
On the final day of the League One season, Wolves are at home to Carlisle United, Sheffield United welcome the visit of Coventry, and Preston North End are at Crewe Alexandra.
Mansfield Town's return to the Football League will begin at relegated Scunthorpe United in League Two while Colin Cooper's first match in charge of Hartlepool United comes at Rochdale.
Portsmouth's first season in the fourth tier for 33 years will see them start with a match against Oxford United at Fratton Park while Newport County begin life in the League after a 25-year absence with a home clash against Accrington Stanley, which was announced on Tuesday.
Plymouth Argyle and Torquay United will have to wait until the weekend of November 26 before playing their first derby. Portsmouth host Dagenham & Redbridge on Boxing Day, and Guy Whittingham's side take on Plymouth on the final day of the season.
