Isco delighted with Bernabeu start

28 July 2013 17:00

Real Madrid midfielder Isco is pleased with how he has integrated into the squad at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The former Malaga midfielder admitted that he still has work to do to be ready for the new season following Saturday's 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

"I'm happy and adjusting well," he told the club's official website. "I still need to build understanding with team-mates but I am doing that in every training session."

A 23rd-minute Karim Benzema strike ensured that Carlo Ancelotti was victorious against his former employers, with Isco declaring himself happy with how he and his team-mates played.

"It is always important to win, but today we played against a competitive and very good opponent," the 21-year-old continued.

"Now what we have to do is keep picking up the pace and try to improve every day.

"The team’s quality is impressive. We are a young team with a future.

"The way the team plays is more important than individual players.

"What Ancelotti asks is for us to play well, play creatively and keep the ball."

Isco is part of the 28-man squad travelling to Los Angeles ahead of their first game in the International Champions Cup.

Real take on LA Galaxy in Phoenix on Thursday.
