Sevilla complete Bacca signing

10 July 2013 11:37

Sevilla have completed the signing of Colombian striker Carlos Bacca on a five-year deal from Club Brugge.

The 26-year-old has made the switch to La Liga after scoring 28 goals from 44 appearances in his first full season in Belgium last term, firing Club Brugge to third in the Pro League's post-season play-offs, securing UEFA Europa League football.

Bacca, who has also represented his country four times, netting twice, began his career at Atletico Junior, spending time on loan at Barranquilla and Venezuelan side Minerven before moving to Belgium in January 2012.

The Colombian took to Twitter to hail his move to the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

He wrote: "Thank God, next destination, Seville."

Bacca's addition marks the sixth signing for Sevilla in the close-season, following the arrivals of Nico Pareja, Vitolo, Raul Rusescu, Jairo and Marko Marin.

However, his signing could have implications on the future of Spain striker Alvaro Negredo, with reports suggesting the Andalusian side would allow the 27-year-old, who scored 31 goals last term, to leave upon signing the Colombian, amid interest from Manchester City.
