Benitez looking for long Napoli stay

8 July 2013 11:55

New Napoli manager Rafael Benitez is hopeful of a bright future with the Serie A side.

The Spaniard was announced as the club's new boss in May, after a spell as interim manager at Premier League side Chelsea last season.

The 53-year-old has already started building his squad for next season, and he believes he has a team well capable of challenging for honours as he looks to build a legacy in Naples.

"I joined this club for the passion that is transmitted," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"We have a group of players of absolute quality who are hungry for success. And I hope to get the best out of them.

"I hope this experience in Italy lasts for a long time, because that would mean I have achieved all the goals I have set.

"I want a competitive team who can play good football."
