Igesund satisfied with Bafana mentality

South Africa coach Gordon Igesund believes they have the right mindset to face Morocco in their final Africa Cup of Nations group match.

It is a completely different mood since last week when South Africa were struggling to score, and the team was under immense pressure - some of which was released by a 2-0 defeat of Angola on Wednesday.

"The boys are looking good. They are all excited and positive. In actual fact this was the best training session that I have ever had with them after the win against Angola. They are all showing strong character," Igesund said.

The coach also hinted there might not be any further changes from his previous starting line-up apart from the forced change with the injured Tokelo Rantie, while Lehlohonolo Majoro is ruled out from the matchday squad altogether after coming off the bench and scoring against the Angolans.

"Both the players are injured and most definitely Majoro will not be coming in. As for Rantie he has been running some medical tests and the doctor said we can risk him. That is something that I will have to think about," he said.

Morocco have made it quite clear they will be going all out to get the maximum points required for their progression, while Igesund looked quite cool to face up with his counterpart.

"We know they will be coming hard at us, but we are not going to allow them to change our game plan. We are confident everything is in place and we are here to win.

"We will continue where we left off in the Angola game, and build from there."

Despite the fact that the South Africans will come into this match as favourites, Igesund insisted there is still a lot of work to be done to justify the tag.

"We must not shy away from the fact that Morocco is a good side and they will be coming to this match to win. I have told my players not to get carried away, but to continue working as hard as they did," he said.
