Transfer wrap: United complete Zaha swoop

25 January 2013 13:12

Exciting young forward Wilfried Zaha has finalised his move from Crystal Palace to Manchester United.

But as expected, the winger will be loaned back to Championship side Palace until the end of the season.

The England international arrives at Old Trafford for a fee of 15 million pounds, which could rise to 17 million based on additional clauses.

United manager Alex Ferguson is also reportedly hoping to add a defender to his ranks, with the club believed to be lining up a move for St Etienne centre-back Kurt Zouma.

With seven days until the transfer window closes, time is running out for Totteham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas to engineer an early transfer for Lewis Holtby.

The Schalke player is due to arrive at Spurs in the off-season, but have attempted to bring the transfer forward after losing Sandro to a long-term knee injury.

According Schalke general manager Horst Heldt, Spurs' latest offer for the midfielder is not sufficient for them to grant an early release.

He said: "About Lewis Holtby, there's nothing new to say. The offer from Tottenham is on the table but it's not acceptable for us. And we told them it wasn't acceptable."

Spurs are also reported to be looking at Mohamed Diame.

The West Ham midfielder has also been linked with moves to Arsenal, Everton and Fulham after just seven months with the Hammers.

But the player issued a statement on the club's website declaring he is happy in east London.

If Tottenham do move for the Senegalese, it may cast doubt over the futures of Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore, with Queens Park Rangers boss - and former Spurs manager - Harry Redknapp said to be monitoring the midfield duo.

West Ham had previously been linked with a move for former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka.

But the frontman has now been tipped to join Juventus, as he looks to force a split from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.

Meanwhile, Fabricio Coloccini's future at Newcastle continues to be plagued by uncertainty.

The defender wants to return to his native Argentina, but a move to former club San Lorenzo now looks unlikely.

Manager Alan Pardew is hoping to convince the centre-back to stay until at least the end of the season, as the club aim to steer clear of relegation.

Newcastle did, however, confirm the signing of midfielder Moussa Sissoko from Toulouse on a six-and-a-half-year deal.

The France international has arrived from Ligue 1 for an undisclosed fee and will wear the number seven shirt with the Tyneside club.

West Bromwich Albion have denied attacker Peter Odemwingie a transfer request out of the Hawthorns, while Atletico Madrid have sealed the services of Emiliano Insua from Sporting Lisbon.
