Granero wants QPR stay

23 February 2013 17:04

Esteban Granero has reaffirmed his intention to see out his four-year contract at Queens Park Rangers.

The 25-year-old arrived at Loftus Road last off-season as one of 10 new signings made by then-manager Mark Hughes.

Since then he has made 19 appearances, but has struggled to keep his place in the starting line-up since Harry Redknapp's appointment.

"I came here to spend four years here and that is still the case. I'm not the kind of player who wants to leave when things are going wrong," he told the Evening Standard.

"This team, this club, are part of me now so I can't drop them just because we're struggling. This is not the way I think."

Granero was linked with possible moves to both Serie A and La Liga during the January transfer window.

He insists that even in the face of relegation, he wishes to remain at Loftus Road.

"I was able to leave in the January transfer window and I didn't even think about it," Granero said.

"There are always teams who are interested when the window opens, but I never thought about leaving the team."
