16 December 2013 13:46

Everton have confirmed forward Gerard Deulofeu will be out for up to five weeks with the hamstring injury he sustained on Saturday.

The Barcelona loanee was taken off on a stretcher after pulling up in the second half of Everton's 4-1 win over Fulham.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez stated on Tuesday that the teenager would be our for "up to five weeks."

Deulofeu has made a big impression since arriving at Goodison Park on a temporary basis, having initially been eased into first-team action by Martinez.

Martinez also revealed on Tuesday that there is a chance left-back Leighton Baines could return against Swansea on Sunday but it is not yet clear whether the England international will be fit enough to feature.

Baines suffered a fractured toe in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool on November 23 and it was initially feared that he would be out until 2014.
