Toni Kroos has no qualms about being used in a squad rotation system at Bayern Munich this season.
The 23-year-old midfielder played a key role in Bayern’s historic treble-winning campaign last term, which saw them sweep the board by landing the Bundesliga, UEFA Champions League and DFB-Pokal titles.
New manager Pep Guardiola also named Kroos in the starting line-up for his first two league games in charge, but the Germany international was left on the bench for the 2-0 win over Nuremberg last Saturday.
With the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez and Thiago Alcantara - who was recently ruled out for two months - competing for a place in Guardiola’s first-choice midfield, some reports had suggested Kroos may seek a move away.
However, the Germany international has dismissed such speculation, insisting he understands the need to keep players fresh.
"It's pretty usual to not start every match. We have to use a rotation scheme," he told Kicker-Sportmagazin.
Kroos - who came through the youth system at Bayern - went on to indicate he is also ready to begin discussions about extending his stay at the Allianz Arena.
"I have two years left on my contract and if the club wants to keep me, he (Guardiola) has to get in touch with me about that," he added.
