Primeira Liga leaders Sporting Lisbon will look to build on their 5-1 opening-day win when they travel to Academica on Saturday.
Sporting were comfortable winners against league new-boys Arouca last weekend, as they came from a goal behind to win 5-1 thanks to a Fredy Montero hat-trick and further goals from Mauricio and Wilson Eduardo.
The win took the capital club top of the table but Montero feels the comprehensive victory also demonstrates something more important, given it was manager Leonardo Jardim's first Primeira Liga game in charge of the club.
The Colombia international, who is on loan from Seattle Sounders, told Sporting's official website: "We applied what Leonardo Jardim has been teaching us.
"Thanks to the support of the fans, we got a good result. Now we just have to take one step at a time and fight to win as many games as possible."
Jardim believes it is a case of taking it one game at a time in order to achieve success following last season's seventh-place finish.
The former Braga coach said: "The fans know that they can expect a competitive attitude from us and we will fight for three points in every game. What matters now is that the team begins to build up its own identity."
In Saturday's other fixture, Olhanense take on Pacos de Ferreira, off the back off the island club's 4-1 UEFA Champions League play-off defeat to Zenit St Petersburg in midweek.
Rio Ave are second in the embryonic table after running out 3-0 winners against Belenenses on the opening day and will be looking to take advantage of any Sporting slip-up against Vitoria Setubal on Saturday.
Arouca will target their first points of the season when they host third-placed Estoril while Maritimo will hope to build on their opening-day win over Benfica against champions Porto.
A 78th-minute Sami goal gave Pedro Martins' men the three points against last season's runners-up while Porto hit three in the second half as they came from behind to beat Setubal 3-1.
Jorge Jesus' Benfica will want to recover from their surprise defeat to Maritimo when they take on Gil Vicente at the Estadio de Luz.
Nacional, one of eight teams to lose on the opening day, will look to pick up their first win of the campaign against Vitoria Guimaraes.
A Moussa Maazou brace gave Rui Vitora's men the three points against Olhanense at the Estadio Dom Afonso Henriques on Saturday.
The final match of game week two sees Sporting Braga welcome Belenenses.
