Colo Colo secured their first win of the Chile Primera Division season after convincingly defeating Deportes Iquique 4-1 on Sunday.
There was an early hitch for Gustavo Benitez's side as Iquique took a first-minute lead through Cristian Bogado.
It only took 17 minutes for Colo Colo to restore parity when Gonzalo Fierro found the back of the net before goals on the stroke of half-time to Jose Fuenzalida and Emiliano Vecchio garnered a match-defining 3-1 lead.
Felipe Flores added a fourth in the 90th minute and Colo Colo will hope this victory will get their season back on track.
Universidad Catolica remain on top of the division by goal difference after a late equaliser earned a 1-1 draw against Audax Italiano.
Defender Boris Rieloff gave Italiano the advantage after 33 minutes but things became difficult in the 66th minute when Juan Cornejo was shown a straight red card.
Italiano tried to hold on but substitute Matias Jadue popped up in the 86th minute to earn a share of the spoils for Catolica.
Cobreloa leaped to second in the standings after holding off 10-man Santiago Wanderers by a 2-1 scoreline.
A second yellow card to Andres Robles on 29 minutes set the Wanderers a task and that was made challenging by Jonathan Chavez's 36th-minute penalty.
Two minutes after the restart, Cristian Gaitan made it 2-0 for Cobreloa with Wanderers' bench player Moises Villarroel sent off in the aftermath.
The Wanderers somehow managed to pinch a goal back through Matias Donoso on 81 minutes but were unable to find an equaliser.
In other results, O'Higgins dropped to third after a 1-1 draw against Everton, Huachipato earned a 2-0 win at Union Espanola and Universidad Concepcion ran out 2-0 winners against Palestino.
Cobresal comfortably accounted for Antofagasta 2-0, Rangers and Union La Calera fought out a 2-2 draw and Universidad Chile scrapped a 2-2 result against Nublense.
