Liverpool coasted to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Olympiacos in Steven Gerrard's testimonial game at Anfield on Saturday.
Joe Allen gave the hosts the lead midway through the first half with a simple tap in after excellent work from Iago Aspas and Raheem Sterling.
And substitute Jordan Henderson then added a second seconds after coming on. The midfieler latched on to a fine through ball from the impressive Sterling and finished coolly.
New signings Aspas, Kolo Toure and Simon Mignolet all started in the showpiece occasion held to mark captain Gerrard's service to Liverpool, while club legends Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher also both came off the bench to rapturous applause from the crowd.
After a slow opening to the game, Allen finally broke the deadlock in the 24th minute.
Aspas and Sterling combined neatly on the edge of the penalty are before the Spaniard sent a low cross into the six-yard area for the Wales international to apply the finish.
Allen had an opportunity to double his tally soon after, but he places a header wide.
Opportunities continued to be at a premium after the break, so Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers chose to introduce wantaway striker Luis Suarez just after the hour to try and spark his side into life. The Uruguay international received a standing ovation from the Anfield crowd, despite his desire to leave the club.
Carragher and Henderson were also introduced and within seconds the ex-Sunderland man had increased Liverpool's lead.
Sterling played a neat ball in behind the Olympiacos defence and the 23-year-old lifted a smart left-footed shot over the keeper.
The result means Liverpool have now scored 13 goals in their five pre-season fixtures without conceding.
