Barcelona produced a scintillating performance to thump Santos 8-0 in Gerardo Martino's first game in charge at the Camp Nou on Friday.
Neymar - who moved to the La Liga champions from Santos for a reported fee of £50million in May - would have been impressed as he watched from the bench as his new team-mates surged into a 4-0 half-time lead.
Barcelona invited the Brazilian side to contest the annual friendly they host for the Joan Gamper Trophy, named in honour of one of the founding members and former president of the club.
And Martino's side marked the occasion in style with a top-quality showing.
Lionel Messi, a Leo own goal and strikes from Alexis Sanchez and Pedro effectively ended the game as a contest in the first half, while Manchester United target Cesc Fabregas added two after the break before Adriano and Jean Marie Dongou completed the rout.
It did not take the home side long to break the deadlock, as Messi latched onto a mis-kick from Pedro before waltzing past Aranha in the Santos goal to tap into the empty net after just eight minutes. Three minutes later, the advantage was doubled when an unfortunate ricochet off Leo found its way into the goal.
Messi was instrumental in the third as his pass found the run of Sanchez, who coolly finished into the bottom right-hand corner from inside the box. Chile international Sanchez then had a part in the fourth when he found Jordi Alba down the left who fired in a low-cross that was diverted in by Pedro.
The match continued where it had left off after the restart and Fabregas fired past substitute goalkeeper Vladimir after 53 minutes. Substitute Neymar then grabbed himself an assist as he patiently waited for Fabregas' run before picking the midfielder out with a precise pass, which he then placed into the top-left corner to make it 6-0.
Adriano then netted the goal of the game with a sublime left-footed strike 15 minutes from time, and 18-year-old striker Dongou then continued his impressive pre-season form when he tapped in from close range after a fine pass from Fabregas.
