Palombo intending to finish career at Sampdoria

25 April 2013 17:18

Angelo Palombo is eager to finish his playing career at Sampdoria.

The 31-year-old midfielder has played more than 300 games for the Genoese club since joining them from Fiorentina in 2002 and has no intention of leaving the Stadio Luigi Ferraris anytime soon.

Earlier in the season, the Italian international struggled to get into the first team as ex-manager Ciro Ferrara froze him out of the picture following his loan spell at Inter.

However, Palombo has now returned to the fray under Delio Rossi and, during an interview with Calcissimo, he explained he is more than happy to stay put, even though he enjoyed his brief stint at San Siro.

"It was a nice experience, yet everyone knows that I didn’t really want to go … I want to again reach the highest levels while wearing the Sampdoria jersey," he noted.
