Kovacic pledges improvement at Inter

4 April 2013 15:39

Inter youngster Mateo Kovacic has insisted he still has room for improvement, arguing he is not on top of his game just yet.

The 18-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from Dinamo Zagreb in the January transfer window, and has since impressed with a number of encouraging performances.

"I'm happy to be here but I still need to settle in properly and I can do a lot better. I have to keep working hard and trying to improve my game," Kovacic told the official Inter website.

The Croatia international featured for the full 90 minutes in Inter's 2-0 Serie A win over Sampdoria on Wednesday, and admitted the Giuseppe Meazza side struggled in midfield.

"It was difficult to take a grip of things in the middle of the park, but we got the three points and that's all that matters," he said.

Inter climbed to fifth spot in the Serie A table thanks to a win at the Luigi Ferraris.
