Belgian First Division wrap: Anderlecht leave it late

Anderlecht have come from behind to win 3-2 away to Zulte-Waregem to keep the pressure on Belgian First Division leaders Club Brugge.

Having trailed to Waregem's eighth-minute opener, Anderlecht led 2-1 early in the second half but after the home side equalised, the visitors from Brussels had to wait until Tom De Sutter scored the winner in the 86th minute.

Aleksandar Trajkovski put Waregem in front when he finished off Davy De Fauw's good lead-up work before goals either side of half-time to Dieumerci Mbokani and Alexander Yakovenko put Anderlecht in front in the 57th minute.

Jens Naessens brought Waregem level just seven minutes later but Anderlecht got the job done when De Sutter scored from Milan Jovanovic's assist.

Saturday's win puts Anderlecht on 16 points and maintains their unbeaten start to the Belgian First Division and the reigning champions are just one point behind leaders Club Brugge, who are set to play on Sunday.

Beerschot won their fourth-consecutive match with Hernan Losada scoring from the spot in the 74th minute to secure a 2-1 win over Kortrijk.

Frederic Brillant broke the deadlock for Beerschot in the ninth minute with Losada creating the French central defender's goal but 15 minutes into the second half, Kortrijk struck back when Brecht Dejaeghere scored.

But when Landry Mulemo conceded a penalty and copped a red card 14 minutes later, Losada stepped up and made no mistake from 11 metres to clinch victory for Beerschot, who moved to fourth on the table.

Meanwhile, Mechelen thrashed Mons 3-0, Waasland-Beveren drew 1-1 with Lierse and Lokeren drew 2-2 with OH Leuven after a flurry of goals in the second half.
