International friendly: Brazil 2 Argentina 1

A late penalty from Neymar has given Brazil a 2-1 win over Argentina in the first leg of the Superclasico de las Americas.

The Santos star netted from the spot in the fourth minute of additional time as Brazil completed the come-from-behind win in Goias on Wednesday.

It leaves Mano Menezes' men in a good position heading into the second leg in Resistencia on October 3.

The hosts were behind after 20 minutes when Juan Manuel Martinez opened the scoring for Argentina.

A neat passing move led to Martinez playing a one-two with Clemente Rodriguez, and he lashed his effort past Jefferson.

But their lead lasted just six minutes before Neymar set up Paulinho for the equaliser.

The Brazil forward curled in a set-piece from the right and, despite appearing to be in an offside position, Paulinho was on hand to put away a diving header.

But there was to be late drama as Leandro Desabato conceded a penalty for handling inside the area.

Neymar stepped up and dispatched the spot-kick into the roof of the net to give Brazil a 2-1 win.
