Eskisehirspor defender Bahtiyaroglu dies aged 26

Eskisehirspor defender Ediz Bahtiyaroglu has died at the age of 26 after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday.

The former Turkey under-21 star completed a training session at his club during the evening before returning to the house he shared with a team-mate.

Bahtiyaroglu collapsed later in the evening, and medical help arrived at the scene too late to save the defender.

"He had not gone through heavy training or anything," club doctor Mehmet Ali Armagan told reporters.

"The certain cause of death will be determined after we receive the results of the autopsy."

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) are set to ask FIFA permission for their players to wear black armbands during Friday's international against the Netherlands.
