J.League wrap: Vegalta move equal top after Sanfrecce stumble

20 October 2012 15:02

Sanfrecce Hiroshima suffered another stumble in their bid for the J.League title with a 2-1 loss to Kashiwa Reysol on Saturday.

Tatsuya Masushima stunned the home fans in stoppage time with the winner after Sanfrecce's Koji Morisaki had cancelled out Han-Jin Kweon's opener for the fourth-placed visitors.

The loss cut Sanfrecce's lead over Vegalta Sendai to just goal difference with their pursuers taking advantage of the slip-up with five games to play courtesy of a 3-2 win against the third-placed Urawa Reds.

Brazilian Wilson scored twice for Vegalta Sendai, who led 2-0 and 3-1 before Marcio Richardes scored late on to make for a nervy finish.

Yokohama F. Marinos extended their undefeated streak to four with a 4-0 win against Jubilo Iwata, who lost for a third straight game.

Marquinhos, Shingo Hyodo, Shunsuke Nakamura and Kosuke Nakamachi all got on the scoresheet for Yokohama.

Gamba Osaka wrenched themselves to within a point of safety with a 3-2 win at Kawasaki Frontale courtesy of Akihiro Ienaga's brace.

Shimizu S-Pulse were held 1-1 by Vissel Kobe, Nagoya Grampus comfortably saw off Sagan Tosu 3-1 and Tokyo rescued a point in a 1-1 draw at Cerezo Osaka.

Consadole Sapporo drew 0-0 with Kashima Antlers and relegation-threatened Albirex Niigata picked up what could be a precious point away to Omiya Ardija in a 1-1 stalemate.
