McDermott settles for point at Swansea

Reading boss Brian McDermott was content with his side's 2-2 draw at Swansea on Saturday, despite letting a two-goal lead slip away.

First-half goals from Pavel Pogrebnyak and Noel Hunt had Reading 2-0 up at the interval, but Swansea came storming back at the Liberty Stadium with late goals from Michu and Wayne Routledge securing a share of the spoils.

Despite blowing a golden opportunity for their first win of the season, McDermott was not too disappointed with a draw.

"It's a point gained, no doubt about that," McDermott told Sky Sports.

"I'm not going to kid myself and I won't kid the team - that was definitely a point gained today. We'll move on now.

"You have to give credit to Swansea. This is never an easy place to come and I thought they played very well in the second half. We need to take that opportunity and we will learn a lot from today."

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup, meanwhile, had mixed feelings after the draw, but was annoyed his team were denied a penalty in the closing stages.

"I think it's difficult to describe how I feel right now," Laudrup said.

"The first time they come near our goal they score and then they get a second one. You are 2-0 down and you say 'what happened?'.

"The three last games in the league we didn't score, so that's seven halves without scoring.

"I think it was a fantastic second half and we created six or seven huge chances.

"I have to say that we should have had a penalty as well five minutes from the end. I think there were only three people who didn't see that.

"It was so obvious that it was a handball. It is called football, so it should be a penalty."
