Ligue 1 preview: PSG look to regain form, Toulouse host Lyon

Only three points separate the top seven in Ligue 1 with leaders Lyon heading to Toulouse on Sunday with a game in hand on the chasing pack.

PSG defeated Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday to reach the last 16 but must now arrest a three-game winless streak in the league against lowly Troyes on Saturday.

Off-season signing Ezequeil Lavezzi opened his account with both goals for the Paris outfit which will give both he and manager Carlo Ancelotti plenty of confidence.

Two losses and a draw in their past three Ligue 1 matches means PSG are now two points behind Lyon and one behind Bordeaux in third.

Champions Montpellier will look to rediscover their spark at home to second-placed Bordeaux on Sunday after their Champions League campaign officially came to a halt at the hands of Arsenal in London.

The extra burden of European football has not proven to be the fillip the club might have forecast, with their title defence amounting to only 14th place to date.

The loss of Olivier Giroud to Wednesday's tormentor Arsenal has hit the club hard but there may now be light at the end of the tunnel with attentions focussed firmly on the league.

Lille had a confidence-boosting 2-0 win over BATE Borisov in the Champions League on Tuesday ahead of a tough away clash at Marseille, who are without a win in their last two matches.

Rudi Garcia selected a much-changed line-up for the match, which meant little to Lille after their elimination, but has seen his side rise to eighth in the league after a recent flourish.

Fifth- and sixth-placed Saint-Etienne and Valenciennes do battle on Friday with both sides deadlocked on 22 points.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will look to continue his scoring spree for Saint-Etienne having scored only two goals fewer than Zlatan Ibrahimovic's league-best 10 goals.

In other fixtures on Saturday, last-placed Nancy are at home to Ajaccio, Sochaux host Nice, Bastia entertain Lorient, Reims take on Brest and Rennes welcome Lorient.
