Solskjaer tips more Beckham success

20 November 2012 21:15

Former Manchester United star Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes David Beckham will be a success wherever he chooses to play next season.

Beckham announced on Tuesday he would leave the Los Angeles Galaxy after the MLS Cup in December, bringing to an end his five-year stint with the club.

The 37-year old has reportedly received offers from clubs in Russia, Australia, France, China and Brazil, but is yet to make a decision on his future.

But Solskjaer, who played alongside Beckham at United and now coaches Norwegian club Molde, believes the former England international's impeccable work ethic means he will be a success wherever he goes.

"Becks is a superstar, in the right sense of the word," Solskjaer said.

"I remember playing with Becks, first of all coming back to what I said before, the best people are the best players.

"Becks is a great lad, he's one of the boys and a fantastic human being, always polite and trained hard - unbelievably hard."

Solskjaer remembers fondly just how hard a worker Beckham was during their time at the Red Devils and does not believe anything has changed.

"Every year when we came back after the summer holiday we did the beep test and he was the best. He ran until the beep test stopped," he said.

"And that's something that people don't really know about Becks. They look at all the fashion stuff and the style and also he's a good looking guy of course.

"But he always came in the fittest of the lot and wherever he goes he'll bring that excitement around him, so hopefully he'll find a place he can still play football at this level because the quality, the right foot is still like Harry Potter's wand."
