Kagawa to miss another month

19 November 2012 21:24

Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa faces at least another four weeks on the sidelines, Sir Alex Ferguson revealed on Monday night.

The Japanese international has been absent since suffering a knee injury against Braga at Old Trafford on October 23.

He was expected to be back within a month but his recovered has stalled in recent weeks.

It's a major blow for the 23-year-old, who has made an impressive start to his United career following a £12million summer move from Borussia Dortmund.

"His progress has been quite slow actually. He hasn't started any outside work and, looking now, he may be another four weeks away," Ferguson said ahead of Tuesday's encounter with Galatasaray in Istanbul.

"Overall, he will probably be looking at 6-7 weeks since the injury.

"The first job now is to get him back," he said.

Kagawa has already missed six matches for United plus Japan's World Cup qualifying win in Oman.
