Scottish Premier League: Dundee United 2 Celtic 2

4 November 2012 17:04

Dundee United came from two goals down to salvage a point against Celtic in their 2-2 Scottish Premier League draw on Sunday.

A Gary Mackay-Steven strike and an own goal from Efe Ambrose in the final minutes cancelled out Celtic goals from Miku and Tony Watt at Tannadice Park in Dundee.

Celtic took control of the game early, with Scott Brown crossing from the right for Thomas Rogne, but the defender's header went wide of Radoslaw Cierzniak's goal.

Despite dominating the opening half Celtic could not find the breakthrough and had to wait until the 69th minute to take the lead through Miku's first goal for the club.

The champions doubled their advantage minutes later, Watt pouncing on Czerniak's poor clearance before bringing the ball into the box and unleashing a powerful strike home.

The hosts got one back when substitute Rudi Skacel's strike was blocked, with Mackay-Steven on hand to send the ball in from six yards out to give the United fans some hope.

That hope became reality as a cross from the left wing was diverted by Ambrose past his own keeper in the 90th minute.

The result was enough to reclaim top place in the standings from Hibernian, while United climb one place to 10th.
