Supersub Dzeko content with City lot

3 November 2012 15:23

Edin Dzeko has insisted he is happy at Manchester City, despite not being able to hold down a first-team berth so far this season.

The Bosnian has made a big impact from the bench early in 2012/13, scoring match-winning goals for Roberto Mancini's side against Fulham and West Bromwich in the English Premier League.

Despite his frustration at not starting, Dzeko has claimed he is happy with his role and focused on adding to his medal collection.

He told The Sun: "There are rumours about my future in England, Italy or Spain but I'm saying nothing.

"I am all about Manchester City and the deal I have here. It's my obsession to win the title again with City.

"Roberto Mancini is the boss and I accept his orders. He's always talking to us and is satisfied with my work.

"To play in a team like City's is easy because of the quality of my companions. Every forward thinks he should be in the team but it's up to each of us to give him problems over who he selects."

Dzeko has claimed he was not under the illusion that he would walk straight into the side when he arrived from Wolfsburg in 2011.

"Nobody promised me a place in a title-winning side," he said.

"I was very happy with my goals at West Brom and look forward to many more.

"This season has been good and bad. I've scored some important goals but it is complicated with so many big names to choose from.

"I have good relations with all the squad but with the forwards it is special. Myself, (Carlos) Tevez, Sergio Aguero or Mario (Balotelli) - we need the best combination but it's not possible without good sporting feelings for each other.

"Still, I hope to face West Ham. They've improved a lot but we need to beat them and then Ajax in the Champions League next week."
