Drogba future clouded

Mystery surrounds the future of Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, just days after his Champions League heroics.

The 34-year-old striker has been linked with a move away from the English Premier League giants for most of the season after losing his place in the starting line-up due a lack of form, but scored a vital goal as well as the winning penalty as the Blues clinched the elusive European crown on Saturday over Bayern Munich.

Since Roberto Di Matteo took over from Andre Villas-Boas, Drogba has been key in the revival of Chelsea's season, with the Ivorian also scoring in their victorious FA Cup final.

Despite calls for owner Roman Abramovich to hand him the two-year deal he desires, it appears Drogba is on his way out.

"We (he and his Chelsea team-mates) will not be together next season," Drogba was quoted by France Football.

"As I have decided to leave, I wanted to tell them to their faces. They made me break down. I found it hard to admit that it was finished with me and the club."

However, Drogba's representatives have reportedly disputed the authenticity of the quotes.
