Lyon consolidated fourth spot in Ligue 1 with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Evian TG at Parc des Sports on Thursday.

Remi Garde's team, who have booked a place in next year's Europa League after winning the Coupe de France, secured the come-from-behind win after Bakary Kone, Jimmy Briand and Alexandre Lacazette netted.

Lyon are eight points adrift of third-placed Lille, too far back to qualify for the Champions League with two matches remaining, while last season's Ligue 2 champions Evian TG sit ninth after the loss.

Yannick Sagbo gave the hosts a surprise lead on 15 minutes, netting after Daniel Wass found him unmarked at the back post.

But Lyon levelled just eight minutes later through Kone, who got on the end of an assist from Yoann Gourcuff.

Hugo Lloris was forced into several good stops, and Lyon capitalised on their goalkeeper's good work when they took a 68th-minute lead.

Striker Bafetimbi Gomis burst down the right before crossing for Briand to tap in and make it 2-1.

Lacazette completed the scoring from the penalty spot in the second minute of added time as Lyon extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to five matches.
