Palmeiras eased into the quarter-finals of the Copa do Brazil after a comfortable 4-0 win over second division Parana.

Luis Felipe Scolari's side were in a confident mood having won the first leg 2-1 before going on to take the tie 6-1.

The home side went ahead after just 26 minutes, with Mazinho sliding in to convert Marcos Assuncao's free-kick.

Just two minutes later the referee reduced both sides to 10 men after a scuffle between Henrique and Douglas resulted in both men being sent off.

It mattered little with Mazinho bagging his brace shortly after half-time before further goals from Jorge Valdivia and Maikon Leite put the tie beyond doubt.

Palmeiras will meet Atletico Paranaense in the last eight after they beat Cruzeiro 3-1 on aggregate.
