Grosskreutz admits ´mistake´ in race row

Kevin Grosskreutz has spoken of the race row that erupted after Borussia Dortmund's win over Greuther Fuerth in the DFB-Pokal semi-final.

The winger denied accusations made by Furth defender Mergim Mavraj that he racially abused Gerald Asamoah immediately after Ilkay Gundogan's winning goal in extra time to send Dortmund through in their final-four clash in March.

The Germany international has now revealed he received death threats following the incident.

"After such an intense 120 minutes, all the emotions built up inside of me," Grosskreutz told Bild.

"For me the issue is finished. If we see each other next time, we will shake hands.

"What people do, I do not care, but there is a limit - to the point when you start receiving threats via SMS.

"I was my own fault that I went up to Asamoah in the first place. It was a mistake."

Grosskreutz will likely feature when Dortmund face Freiburg on Saturday.
