Liga Sagres wrap: Braga move top

Braga moved to the top of Liga Sagres with a 2-1 home win over Academica on Monday.

Marcio Mossoro gave the hosts a 36th-minute lead at Estadio Axa when he headed home Miguel Lopes' cross.

The Brazilian turned provider nine minutes later, cutting through the Academia defence before setting up Rodrigo Lima for a 2-0 half-time advantage.

Academica pulled one back in the 62nd minute through David Simao, but ultimately failed to deny Leonardo Jardim's side a 13th consecutive league win.

Braga sit one point clear of Porto and two above Benfica after both title rivals could only manage draws earlier in the round.

Also on Monday, Maritimo reclaimed fourth place after notching a 3-2 win over Gil Vicente.

Maritimo took an early lead through Heldon, but Ze Luis and Luis Carlos struck in the space of two minutes to give the visitors a 2-1 advantage at half-time.

Philipe Fidelis netted an equaliser for the hosts after the restart, before substitute Christian Pouga completed the comeback by scoring the winner in the 86th minute.
