Koeman targets Twente win

16 March 2012 19:01

Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman is confident his side can pick up all three points in Saturday's Eredivisie match against Twente.

Koeman will be without suspended trio Otman Bakkal, Guyon Fernandez and Miquel Nelom, while Karim El Ahmadi is an injury doubt heading into the clash.

Former Ajax favourite Koeman believes his depleted side can take advantage of Twente's recent slump.

Steve McClaren's side have now lost twice in succession following a 4-1 defeat against Schalke in the Europa League on Thursday.

"Twente are a team that gives away very little," Koeman told NUSport.

"But we have difficulty in creating many goal-scoring opportunities."

"With the loss against NEC and the elimination from the Europa League by Schalke, they (Twente) have lost two matches in a row after a fantastic 6-2 victory over PSV."

"Against Schalke in the second half they were absolutely hopeless. This indicates once again that they are not invincible. There is an opportunity for us to win on Sunday, if we play well."

Feyenoord are sixth in the Eredivisie standings, three points behind Twente, who occupy third place.
