Berlusconi to decide Silva fate

13 June 2012 19:16

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi will have the final say on the potential sale of Thiago Silva to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Milan chief Adriano Galliani returned to Italy on Wednesday after spending the day in the French capital to negotiate a transfer fee with PSG, and both sides are close to reaching an agreement.

However, it is up to Berlusconi to make a final decision on the transfer of the Brazil international.

The former Italy Prime Minister has previously vetoed the potential moves of Kaka to Manchester City and Alexandre Pato to PSG.

However, it seems unlikely that he will decide to keep the 27-year-old at San Siro, due to the increasingly bleak financial problems at the club.

"Our financial situation is bad, there is nothing I can do about Thiago," Berlusconi told La Stampa.

"I have been offered 46 million euros."

Galliani and Berlusconi are expected to finalise a decision later on Wednesday.
