Choi dispels qualifying talk, for now

South Korea coach Choi Kang-Hee says it's too early to be making proclamations about 2014 World Cup qualification.

Choi admits he was delighted to claim three points after their 4-1 triumph away to Qatar on Friday.

The Taeguk Warriors got their final round qualifying campaign off to the perfect start against the Qataris, although Choi admitted he had expected more from the hosts.

"We expected a harder match especially because the weather was hot and we were playing away," Choi said.

"This caused us to be a little unbalanced in the beginning but we managed to make a good comeback in the second period and scored three goals.

"After Qatar took the lead, we tried to force more attacking players to go up towards the goal.

"We watched Qatar's match against Lebanon and we expected them to give us a harder match.”

Choi added that it was too early to be talking about reaching Brazil but said that claiming three points on the road was very important.

"Just one game is finished. It's too early to say who will qualify to Brazil but I can say that home game will be very important to every team," he said.

"It's satisfying to get three points from a difficult away game. There were many problems like heat and jet-leg but training in Switzerland was helpful."
