Diarra happy in defence

Frenchman Lassana Diarra has rubbished reports that he does not want to play at right-back for Real Madrid.

With Sergio Ramos primarily used at centre-back in recent times and the sale of youngster Daniel Carvajal to Bayer Leverkusen, Diarra has become one of Jose Mourinho's options at right-back alongside Alvaro Arbeloa.

The 26-year-old – who specialises as a defensive midfielder – was reportedly unhappy at being played across the back four, but the former Chelsea and Arsenal man rejected that on Tuesday.

"I play wherever Mourinho wants me to," Diarra told the club's official website.

"I am a tireless worker who gives his all for the team."
