Almeida wants Besiktas stay

Hugo Almeida has reiterated his desire to stay with Besiktas despite the Turkish club's financial problems.

Almeida moved to the Super Lig outfit in January 2011, agreeing a three-and-a-half year contract, and has since become a regular in the Istanbul club's first team.

The 28-year-old Portuguese has assured fans that he will stay, even though the club has been banned from the Europa League this year due to their financial situation.

"I do not want to leave. The only problem is with the issue of unpaid wages," he told Sabah.

When he was asked about the financial drama, Almeida admitted that there was going to be change at the club.

"Jobs will be different from last year."

Besiktas kick-off the new Super Lig season away to Istanbul BB on August 18.
