Yanga-Mbiwa casts doubt on Montpellier stay

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has cast further doubt over his future at Montpellier, suggesting he could be swayed with a transfer by a handsome offer.
The former France Under-21 international, who has one year left to run on his current contract, has been the subject of interest from Italian giants AC Milan, who are looking for a replacement following the sale of Thiago Silva to Paris Saint-Germain.
But despite Montpellier president Louis Nicollin's assertions that Milan would have to pay them the entire transfer fee that they received from the Brazilian's sale, the Ligue 1 champions' centre-back did little to quash rumours of an exit.
"I'm here, but with a question mark because you never know... there are some offers that you cannot refuse," Yanga-Mbiwa told
France Football.
"For example, if a club comes in with a project that suits me and offers 7-8 million euros, what can you say to a figure like that?
"The club has always been good with me. I conduct myself well and there are no problems."
Yanga-Mbiwa was an integral part of Montpellier's league triumph last season, and they will begin their title defence against Toulouse on August 10.
