Palace teen tempts Bolton

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed his interest in signing Crystal Palace teenager Wilfried Zaha.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has confirmed his interest in signing Crystal Palace teenager Wilfried Zaha.

The 19-year-old has been linked to several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester United.

Coyle is targeting young players during the remaining days of the January transfer window, but Palace are adamant Zaha is not for sale.

"There's players out there, and Zaha's certainly one of them, that I think would enhance our club for years to come," Coyle said.

"There are players I'd love to bring in before the transfer deadline on Tuesday, if it transpires great. I will target young players I think can make this club better."

Coyle also confirmed Sunderland have made an enquiry for veteran striker Kevin Davies.

Sunderland have been linked to a number of strikers following a facial injury to on-loan Arsenal forward Nicklas Bendtner, including Davies and Besiktas' Hugo Almeida.

But, despite Davies being in and out of the first team at the Reebok Stadium, Coyle said the front man still had a part to play at the club.

"There are all sorts of speculation and when good players are out of the team that's always going to happen," Coyle said.

"He's an outstanding player, a terrific captain and he's still got a role to player at this club."

"Martin O'Neill did ring me, and I told him he (Davies) is a big part of my plans and I don't want him going anywhere.

"There was no offer (from Sunderland), just an enquiry."
