Hazard to leave Lille

29 January 2012 12:47

Lille general director Frederic Paquet says it is almost certain winger Eden Hazard will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old Belgian has persistently been linked with a move after establishing himself as one of the hottest prospects in Europe.

Hazard has said he wants to further his career at a different club and Lille appear resigned to losing their young star.

"Eden will leave at the end of the season, that is almost a certainty," Paquet told Orange Sport.

Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly interested in Hazard, while Paris Saint-Germain are also said to keen.

After previously ruling out a transfer to the Parc des Princes, Hazard said on Friday he would jump at the chance to play for Carlo Ancelotti's team.

Hazard, who broke into Lille's first team in 2007, has a contract with the Ligue 1 champions until 2015.

The news comes after Lille confirmed the sale of striker Moussa Sow to Turkish club Fenerbahce on Saturday.
