Maritimo climbed to fourth place in the Liga Sagres with a 2-1 win away to Beira-Mar on Saturday.
Leocisio Sami opened the scoring 18 minutes into the match at Estadio Municipal de Aveiro.
The Guinea-Bissau forward benefited from a deflection off Rafael Miranda's cross to tuck the ball home at the back post.
Brazilian Danilo Dias made it 2-0 when he netted on 67 minutes.
China international Zhang Chengdong pulled one back for Beira-Mar with 11 minutes to go, but the home side proved unable to force an equaliser in the time remaining.
The win lifts Maritimo up to fourth, two points back from Braga and one point ahead of Sporting Lisbon, who are in action on Sunday and Monday respectively.
Beira-Mar meanwhile are ninth, just two points above the relegation zone after losing three league matches in succession.
