Blackburn manager Steve Kean is adamant Chris Samba will not be sold, despite the defender handing in a transfer request on Monday.
The club rebuffed the 27-year-old's request on Tuesday in a four-line statement which highlighted the fact that the centre-back had signed an improved contract, which runs until June 2015, less than a year ago.
Kean has reiterated the club's stance to the player in training and wants the matter to be resolved.
"I spoke with him yesterday and he knows he is not for sale," Kean said.
"The day before he handed in a transfer request; that has been refused and we won't welcome any more bids."
"Chris knows the stance of the club. It is never nice when somebody hands in a transfer request but hopefully we can now move on."
Asked if Samba would retain the Rovers captaincy, Kean said:"If he's playing and performing well and still wants to be at the club, yes."
