Tottenham midfielder Andros Townsend has returned to the club after opting to end his loan spell at Leeds United.
Townsend made just seven appearances for the Championship side after initially agreeing to stay until the end of the season.
Leeds' new manager Neil Warnock is disappointed to lose the 20-year-old, but expressed that he sees no need in keeping a footballer who wants to play elsewhere.
"I've lost Townsend. His agent told me he didn't like it here, he wasn't happy and he hadn't settled," Warnock revealed to reporters.
"I've heard that Birmingham want to sign him, I don't know if that's got anything to do with it."
"I'm disappointed because we've lost a player, but if he doesn't want to be here good riddance I say if that's what he wants to do."
Warnock has also explained that the ability to spend more time with his family and be offered one last challenge before the end of his managerial career, was the main impetus behind his decision to take up the Leeds vacancy.
"My wife doesn't want to see me have a heart attack and have to look after me and have no in-between time," the 63-year-old said.
"We need a bit of quality time before packing football in and popping my clogs, so it's finding that happy medium. But this challenge here was too good to turn down."
