Former Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka took just 60 seconds to score on his Shanghai Shenhua debut on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old joined the Chinese Super League club during the January transfer window, and needed barely a minute to make an impression.
He netted a tough header after a cross from Wu Xi, with Shanghai Shenhua recording a 3-1 win over second tier side Hunan Xiangtao in the friendly.
According to reports, Anelka is paid in the region of 200,000 pounds a week at his new club.
The Frenchman has previously said former Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba could join him in Shanghai at the end of the English Premier League season, when the Ivory Coast striker's contract expires at Stamford Bridge.
Jean Tigana's team are also believed to be closing in on signing Reading forward Mathieu Manset on a six-month loan deal.
Shanghai Shenhua will be looking to improve on their 11th-place finish from last season when the campaign kicks off in March.
