Gil Vicente kept their Europa League hopes alive thanks to a 2-0 Liga Sagres win over Academica on Monday.
Brazilian defender Claudio gave the visitors the lead after 13 minutes at the Estadio EFAPEL, and striker Hugo Vieira made sure of the three points with 12 minutes remaining when he netted his fourth league goal of the campaign.
The victory lifted Vicente into seventh place in the Liga Sagres table, 10 points behind fifth-placed Maritimo in a Europa League spot, with 12 games remaining.
Vicente take on Sporting Braga on Saturday.
Academica dropped to ninth place in the league table, just six points clear of the drop zone.
