12 February 2012 01:25

Palmeiras took the lead in the Campeonato Paulista with a 3-0 win over Ituano on Saturday, as Mirassol drew 3-3 at home to Ponte Preta.

Goals from Patrik and Hernan Barcos gave hosts Palmeiras an early lead in the match at Estadio Palestra Italia.

Jose Manuel Barbosa added a third on 66 minutes to put the result beyond doubt, with Ituano unable to trouble the scorers.

The win sees Palmeiras move top of the table, three points clear of Sao Paulo and Corinthians, who are second and third respectively.

Also on Saturday, Ponte Preta gave up a 3-1 lead to draw 3-3 away to Mirassol.

The visitors led through two goals in the first six minutes of the match from Bruno Nunes.

Borebi pulled one back for Mirassol three minutes into the second half, but Marcio Diogo soon netted to restore Ponte Preta's two-goal cushion.

Mirassol then produced a quick-fire double of their own, as Igor Soares struck twice in three minutes to earn the home side a share of the spoils.

Finally, Bragantino saw off Mogi Mirim 2-0 at home thanks to second-half goals from Leo Jaime and Giancarlo Da Silva.
