Genoa's Alberto Gilardino has been sidelined for a month with a calf injury.
A scan on Wednesday revealed an injury to the soleus muscle of the 29-year-old's calf, a problem that could see him miss four weeks, according to Genovatoday.it.
Gilardino is expected to miss the club's Serie A matches against Catania, Atalanta, Chievo, Parma and Lecce.
The news comes as a blow to the former Fiorentina striker, who signed for Genoa in January, and has scored once in five Serie A appearances so far.
