Benfica: Garcia won´t come cheap

28 August 2012 13:14

Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira says the Portuguese giants have no intention of letting Javi Garcia leave for less than 30 million euros.

The midfielder has recently been linked with a move to Manchester City, but the Premier League champions will not get their man on the cheap - with Vieira saying they will have to meet his buy-out clause.

"Javi will only leave if a club matches his buy-out clause. This figure is non-negotiable," the Benfica president told reporters.

The 25-year-old midfielder joined Benfica from Real Madrid in 2009, and has since developed into a key player for the Lisbon giants.

Garcia inked a new deal with Benfica until 2018 back in March.
