Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez says he wants his future resolved as soon as possible amid speculation over a move to Bayern Munich.
The Spain international has been linked with a switch to the Allianz Arena throughout the off-season as the Bavarians look to bolster their options in the centre of the park.
Bayern have announced their intention to meet his 40 million-euro buy-out clause, only to be left by frustrated by the Basque club's approach, but Martinez is still hoping a conclusion will be reached soon.
"I'm waiting and hoping for a fast decision," he told
Bild Am Sonntag.
"I cannot say much about the situation. I am relaxed, exercising, keeping fit and I am waiting for a decision to be made. There is not much more that I can do.
"I have noticed that German newspapers are full of stuff about me and my life. It is madness. It is a great feeling that people in Germany are interested in me."
Former Bayern midfielder Stefan Effenberg has expressed his reservations over the club paying such a hefty fee for the 23-year-old, but Martinez is not worried about the criticism.
"It is completely normal for former star players to make comments about the club itself. That is not a problem and is completely fine. I understand it," he said.
Bayern Munich have already added the likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Mario Mandzukic, Claudio Pizarro and Dante to their squad in the off-season as they look to end their two-year Bundesliga drought.
