Kean denies Blackburn discord claims

21 August 2012 21:40

Blackburn manager Steve Kean has dismissed reports of a rift between himself and senior figures at the club.

The club's global advisor, Shebby Singh, claimed at a fan forum that Kean would be sacked if he lost his first three games of the new season, but later apologised for the comments.

But the Scot has played down the comments and is eager to focus on on-field matters.

"We are getting on fine," Kean told reporters. "Obviously Shebby had a press conference or a get-together with some fans and some things were said.

"But we are only focused on games, points and team spirit and we have got that in abundance. The dressing room is very united and the players that have come in have done well.

"We have got some good types and if you get the right types you will have a strong dressing room.

"The team spirit is backed up by every individual player in the team and I think that was there to see on Saturday when were under the cosh towards the end of the game.

"Everybody is under pressure to get results and that is part of the job. It is a part of the job that you have to enjoy."

Blackburn started their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town.
