Pjanic sets sights on top three

4 August 2012 05:36

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic believes that his club have the potential to break into the top three in Serie A this season.

The capital city club's first season under the aegis of their American owners ended in disappointment as the club finished in seventh position in the league, outside the European qualification zone.

However, Roma have been busy revamping their squad in the close season, and Pjanic thinks that the club will fare much better this time around.

"I think my first year in Italy was good, but I hope that I will be able to do even better," he told Roma Channel.

"We have a new coach now and we have to get used to his methods. We can do very well this season. I think that we will fight for a place in the top three."

The Bosnia international scored three goals in 33 appearances in his first season at Roma following his transfer from Lyon.
