1 August 2012 17:52

Derby County have signed defender James O'Connor from Doncaster Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

O'Connor, 27, has agreed terms on a two-year deal with the Pride Park outfit, with the option available to extend it by another year.

"He's versatile, can play right across the back four, and it's great to have someone like that," Derby manager Nigel Clough said.

"He has good Championship experience and he's impressed us whenever we've faced Doncaster. We're delighted.

"We've admired James for some time and think he will be a very good addition to the squad."

O'Connor made over 200 appearances for Doncaster in his six years at the club.
